Toxicology
Toxicology tests are essential in determining the presence of drugs in a patient’s system. These tests serve various purposes, ranging from regular pre-employment screenings to ensuring appropriate pain management dosages.
At Silver Star Dx, we provide dependable testing solutions that yield fast and accurate results, allowing you to make informed decisions with confidence. Our testing options include both custom and standard solutions tailored to meet your specific requirements.
Our services feature clear and secure specimen collection, quantitative confirmation testing, specimen validity testing, and detailed reporting.
Polypharmacy
Silver Star Dx can help with direct analysis of metabolites in patients’ urine. Silver Star’s proprietary polypharmacy panel provides a comprehensive list of the medications your patient is taking, allowing our healthcare professionals to identify potential risks or intervene when patients aren’t adhering to prescribed treatment.
COVID-19
Certified COVID-19 PCR Testing Laboratory PCR testing for COVID-19 produces accurate and timely data to inform treatment solutions and quarantine protocols. The PCR test offers the best results to diagnose COVID-19. Plus, the PCR test fulfills travel, school, event, and workplace requirements.
What is the PCR COVID-19 Test?
PCR stands for a polymerase chain reaction and is the gold-standard method for detecting the COVID-19 virus from any sample (nasal swab, throat swab, or saliva sample). This type of molecular testing identifies the DNA or RNA to determine if the virus is active in the patient.
PCR tests can find the virus in the early stages, which can help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Respiratory Pathogen Panel (RPP)
Respiratory Pathogen Panels
Comprehensive Detection
Silver Star Dx Specializes in comprehensive respiratory pathogen detection using molecular
genetic testing.
Not all patients with symptoms suggestive of a respiratory infection require a Respiratory Pathogen Panel (RPP). Hospitalized patients or those with multiple infections or complications require an RPP for effective diagnosis. Silver Star Dx delivers accurate test results to help medical providers make informed treatment decisions. Our combination of testing capacity, state-of-the-art equipment, software integration, and speed increase effectiveness for healthcare providers.
PGx
What is PGx?
Pharmacogenomics (PGx) is the study of how an individual’s DNA can impact their response to certain medications. The primary objective of PGX testing is to avoid adverse reactions or side effects and achieve the most favorable outcomes from prescribed drugs. By utilizing PGX, healthcare providers can customize treatments for their patients based on their genetic makeup.
How does it work?
PGx operates by recognizing that our genes have a significant influence on how our bodies react to drugs. In instances where patients have particular gene variants, their bodies may process certain medications in a distinct manner. If a gene variant disrupts the expected drug reaction, patients may encounter unexpected side effects, or the medicine may not perform as intended.
PGx testing identifies these genetic variations that impact drug responses. These variants can occur in genes that influence drug metabolism due to missing or altered drug-receptor proteins. Prior to administering medication, pharmacogenetic tests can identify a patient’s response or reaction to a drug.
By minimizing reliance on the trial-and-error method for determining medication effectiveness, PGx can improve the efficiency of pharmaceutical treatment processes. This can result in reduced costs incurred by patients for ineffective medications, avoidance of dangerous and potentially life-threatening side effects or reactions, and the development of personalized treatment plans to enhance patient care.
